The 2nd Annual Gateway Chapter-NCVA meeting was held on Saturday, 05 May 2007 at 0900 in the Davos Room at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet Hotel in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The primary purpose of the meeting was the election of two Directors, replacing Don Owens (President) and Ray Purdom (Director-at-Large #2) term positions, and the appointment of Officers. A social gathering of the attending members was held in the Zermatt Hospitality Room on the evenings of 04-05 May 2007.

IAW the Gateway Chapter-NCVA constitution by-laws, the governing body will consist of five (5) elected Directors. The current Chapter Directors and Officer positions are:

• Frank Huffman, Director-Vice President


• John Whitworth, Director-Secretary/Treasurer


• Ken Cole, Director-At-Large #1


• Ray Purdom, Director-At-Large #2

Vice-President Frank Huffman conducted the nominating procedure and oversaw the election of two Chapter Directors. Those nominated were: Cal Fulmer, Bill Craig and Larry Gifford. The membership, by a show of hands, elected Cal Fulmer and Larry Gifford as newly elected Directors.

During a short membership intermission, the Directors met in the hospitality room to discuss the appointment of Officers for the Chapter. Upon returning, the general meeting was called to order by Vice-President Frank Huffman. The Directors selected Ken Cole as the President with Frank and John continuing to serve their term in their current position. Ken was unable to attend the meeting and without his presence to accept or decline the Chapter President position, Larry Gifford accepted the duties as Acting-President until Ken was contacted.

Follow-up: On 11 May 2007, in an email from Frank Huffman, he advised that Ken Cole accepted the position as Chapter President. By election hand vote tally: Cal Fulmer becomes Director-At-Large #1 and Larry Gifford becomes Director-At-Large #2.

Topics of the General Meeting were:

1. The 2006 Chapter meeting minutes were read; attendance was 31, of which 28 were members within the chapter boundaries.


2. Federal and MO State Exemption status has been attained.


3. The Chapter Financial Report ending 31 Dec 2006 was provided to the members.


4. Dependent upon availability, the 2008 Gateway Chapter-NCVA annual meeting will be held the 1st weekend of May 2008, 02-04 May 2008, at the Sheraton Westport Plaza Tower Hotel in Maryland Heights, Missouri.


5. Frank Huffman, HOST of the 2008 National NCVA Reunion, solicited for reunion committee volunteers; a meeting of the volunteers was scheduled for 1700.


6. The General Meeting was adjourned at 1130.

Frank Huffman conducted an informal gathering of the membership for the purpose of volunteer committee assignments for the 2008 National NCVA Reunion. The meeting was held on 05 May 2007 at 1630 in the hospitality room at the Sheraton Westport Plaza Lakeside Chalet Hotel in Maryland Heights, Missouri; the meeting concluded at 1800.

The 2007 Gateway Chapter-NCVA dinner buffet was held at Pujols5 Café, located within the Westport Plaza complex at 1830. Albert was invited, but was unable to attend.
