The 3rd Annual Gateway Chapter-NCVA Mini-Reunion and Meeting was held on Saturday, 03 May 2008 at 0900 in the Davos Room at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet Hotel in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The primary purpose of the meeting was the election of two Directors and a review update of Reunion preparations. A social gathering of the attending members was held in the Zermatt Hospitality Room on the evenings of 02-03 May 2008.Those listed below were in attendance:
Topics of the 2008 Chapter General Meeting were: Old Business a. The 2007 Chapter meeting minutes were read; attendance was 31, of which 28 were members within the Chapter boundaries. b. The Chapter Financial Report for the period 1Jan07-31Dec07 was provided. New Business a. Pre-registration and meeting flyers weren’t mailed for the 2008 Chapter Mini-Reunion and Meeting due to excessive cost; last years mailing expense alone was $93.60 to approximately 167 members within the Chapter boundaries. Registration of $5 was collected from attendees after the meeting. b. President Ken Cole proposed to the membership a motion to waiver the election of Directors and appointment of Officers until the 2009 Chapter meeting due to current reunion obligations. The motion was approved by Ray Purdom and seconded by Don Owens. c. Any member is encouraged to research and propose other locations for having the 2009 Chapter Mini-Reunion and Meeting within the Chapter boundaries. (ie: Springfield, IL; Indianapolis, IN; etc.) The meeting would be tentatively held the 1st weekend of May 2009, 01-02 May 2009. Members should submit their proposed location to any Director. As a note, starting in 2010, NCVA National will have their Reunion in the Spring; thus, our 2010 Chapter Mini-Reunion and Meeting would be held in the Fall. Special Reunion Business a. Frank Huffman, HOST of the 2008 National NCVA Reunion, conducted a review and received an update from each reunion committee. 179 members have registered. Lakeside Chalet Hotel stats: 167 rooms with 311 guests. b. A Reunion financial report for the period January 2007-April 2008 was provided. c. Bill Craig and Bob Pepper have volunteered their time and experience to provide photographs with captions of the Reunion, making the 30th Anniversary of the NCVA an experience to remember. d. Executive Director Bob Anderson and Reunion Site Coordinator Dave Fiehtner offered their comments and guidance. The General Meeting was adjourned at 1220. The 2008 Gateway Chapter-NCVA dinner was held at Syberg’s Dorsett Restaurant located a short drive from the Westport Plaza complex at 1800.
