The 4th Annual Gateway Chapter-NCVA Mini-Reunion and Meeting was held on Saturday, 02 May 2009 at 0900 in the Patriot Room at the Radisson Hotel in Branson, Missouri. The primary purpose of the meeting was the election of one Director and a critique of the 2009 Reunion. A social gathering of the attending members was held in the Patriot Hospitality Room on the evenings of 01-02 May 2009. Director Larry Gifford and his wife Jo were the Host for the event. .Those in attendance were:
The 2009 Chapter Meeting was convened by Vice-President Frank Huffman; President Ken Cole was serving his
country in a judicial role and wasn’t able to attend the meeting. Topics of discussion were: Old Business a. The 2008 Chapter meeting minutes were read. b. Attendance was 26, of which 24 were members within the Chapter boundaries. According to NCVA National database, 189 members are within the Chapter boundaries. c. The Chapter Financial Report for the period 01Jan08-31Dec08 was provided. New Business a. As presented by Vice-President Frank Huffman, as brought to the attention of the Directors by President Ken Cole: Article V – Board of Directors and the “Director and Officer Term Expiration Guideline” of the Constitution/By-Laws of the Chapter are confusing and need to be amended or revised. Thus, the wording in Article V, “…as outlined in the attached “Director and Officer Term Expiration Guideline” be removed from Article V and the actual “guideline” also be removed from the Constitution/By-Laws. A hand vote was unanimous for removal. A revised revision will be posted on the Chapter’s Website www.GatewayChapter-NCVA.com b. Vice-President Frank Huffman’s Directorship term has expired and two members were nominated to replace his position: Sam Thompson and Cameron Cook. By paper ballot, Cameron Cook will succeed the vacancy. c. From the Director’s Meeting: Ken Cole remains as President, Cameron Cook is Vice-President, John Whitworth remains as Secretary/Treasurer, Cal Fulmer remains as Director-at-Large #1 and Larry Gifford remains as Director-at-Large #2. d. Any member is encouraged to research and propose other locations for having the 2010 Chapter Mini-Reunion and Meeting within the Chapter’s boundaries. The meeting would be held the in the fall, tentatively the weekend following Labor Day of September 2010, (10-11 September 2010). Members should submit their proposed location to any Director. Patty Thompson said she’d research the Springfield, Illinois area and Ray Purdom said he’d research an area that has a vineyard flair. e. Sam Thompson, Chapter Webmaster, requested any ideas or suggestions to enhance the look and information provided on the website. Special Reunion Business a. Frank Huffman, host of the 2008 National NCVA Reunion, provided a brief critique of the Reunion and copy of the final report was provided for individual review. b. John Whitworth provided the final Reunion financial report. The General Meeting was adjourned at 1230. 4. The 2009 Gateway Chapter-NCVA dinner was held at Romano’s Macaroni Grill located on Branson Landing at 1900.
